As I type this, mundo top has a 46% winrate emerald+ against gwen on ugg (with a like 700 game sample size), so yeah, purely by winrate it is not a great matchup, which makes some sense given Gwen kind of melts tanks and her immunity zone can block a cleaver if she needs to run away or mundo tries to engage. Plus, she just does unreal amounts of damage.

Throw q before you get in auto range, that way you have shred on every auto, including the first one that is often empowered, and you don't waste time that could be autoing, like you said. Also you're such a baby when you're ulting yourself lol. Yes, you can auto and use abilities while you're ulting, even ulting yourself. And it lasts long enough that when you have that much damage you can likely kill a single target before the ult even falls.
